Wedding Garter

Tossing the wedding garter is a long standing wedding tradition.
Its considered a chance for the single men to share in the good
fortune of the groom. In the 14th century, is was customary for the
bride to toss her wedding garter to the men.
During the tossing of the wedding garter the groom takes the
garter off the leg of the bride. The groom then tosses the garter to
the group of single men. It is "believed" that the man who catches
the wedding garter will be the next to marry. The man who catches it
may then put it on the leg of the woman who caught the bouquet.
