Budget, Theme, Color, Quantity and Deadline are five things to consider when selecting your favors.
Budget: When selecting a favor, you’ll need to know your budget before you start your search. Favors can be as inexpensive as $1 pp or for more elaborate weddings or showers, can range from $6-$7 pp. If selecting shower favors, know how much each bridal party member is contributing to the event. Take into consideration everyone’s financial status. If you are a single business woman, you may be able to swing higher ticket items then say a single mother of two!
Theme: Is there a wedding theme? If not, discuss the bride and groom's hobbies and interests. With hundreds of favors to choose from, you’re bound to find something – or be able to create something that represents the couple. If you are having a hard time narrowing down to an idea, you can resort to a “love” themed favor. The event is about love so you can’t go wrong with this theme! Browse through themed favors for some inspiration!
Color: The possibilities are endless for including color into your favors. There are a variety of colored bags, boxes, ribbons, bows, gifts tags and favor stickers that allow you to mix and match colors so your match perfectly with the wedding palette.
Quantity: Always order/make 5-10% more than expected. Transporting favors or guests that grab more than one favor can account for shortages. You don’t want a guest to go home empty handed!
Deadline: Be sure to leave ample time to select and have favors delivered (if ordering on-line). If you choose to create DIY favors, make sure you start several weeks in advance. Have a few of the girls create a few options, then vote on the winner. Have a girls’ night to make and create. Tip: don’t start dishing out cocktails too early! You may find that DIY favors require a lot of time and effort and you don’t want to fall short on either.
Be sure to thank your guests with a tiny token of appreciation that compliments your personal style and wedding day theme.
